Discover what the Time Machine is all about

Discover how the Time Machine helps you gain control over stress and time

Build a sustainable relationship with technology, bring conversation back to meals, fight insomnia, keep work calls at work, and so much more.

The Kairos Time Machine is a timer-controlled lockbox for your phone, but it does so much more than keep distractions at bay.

There When You Need it, Gone When You Don’t

Unlike screen time apps which use rigid schedules, the Time Machine’s schedule is determined by goals and commitments you make day-to-day.

The Time Machine serves as a physical reminder of the commitments you make to yourself.

By Making each commitment intentional and recent, screen time goals can be taken seriously 100% of the time. Keep reading to discover how the Time Machine transforms workflow and productivity using cognitive behavioral techniques.

Remarkably Intuitive Design

To use the Time Machine, just place your phone in the cradle, turn the locking timer to your desired length, and close the lid. The cradle accommodates a wide range of phones, as well as most cases. The Time Machine employs a minimalist design, striving for an unobtrusive presence while still making each use memorable and unique. Every unit is machined from beautiful long-grain hardwood then assembled, finished, and inspected by hand.

Build Good Habits With Best Use Practices

Pair each period away from your phone with steps toward larger goals. With this Segmented Goal Workflow, you don't need to keep the big picture in focus all the time. Just concentrate on every step along the way. This method is inspired by the proven Pomodoro Technique, and pairs with the Kairos Goal Manager Schedule (included with each time machine). The method works as follows:
1. Choose how long you want to lock down your phone.
2. Write down a small, specific, goal that you can achieve in that time.
3. Place your phone in the Time Machine. Wind the locking timer to the chosen time.
4. Close the lid. Work against the clock, knowing that a break is coming.
5. When the timer expires, record your progress.
6. Take a two minute break and repeat with the next goal.

Human-centered design principles:

The central priority during development and testing of the Time Machine was to embody fundamental user experience principles through functional design.

These principles take advantage of practical insights from research in psychology, social-media technology, economics, and aesthetics.
